Raptors V Vibes Game 1.
Ogden, UT
The Raptors win! On the night of a huge bounceback performance, the Raptors were able to outmuscle the Rocky Mountain Vibes, taking game one of the 3 game home series twelve to eight. With every hitter in the starting nine reaching base at least once, the recipe for success was out for the taking right from the start tonight for the Raptors. Taking an abbreviated Gabriel Pacheco start in which he only allowed one earned run, and running to the hills with the win. Gabriel was dealing but his fifth start of the 2024 campaign was cut short because of his rising pitch count. He did a phenomenal job of avoiding barrels and getting out of jam-packed damage situations, the trade off being his pitch count reaching one hundred before the end of the fourth. On the other end, the Raptors pitching staff struggled with their command tonight, surrendering 13 walks to the opposing Vibes, while striking out seven batters. Shane Gustafson, Shawn Triplett, Chris Griffin, Cameron Edmonson, and Dylan Matsuoka all appeared out of the pen in tonight's game, with each of them tossing at least one frame en route to their game 1 victory. Snapping an eight game losing streak, this was a win that the Raptors needed to reel in and they took care of business when it mattered most, scoring much needed insurance runs in the bottom of the eighth and closing the door definitively in the ninth. The Raptors will be looking to keep the momentum rolling into tomorrow afternoon’s game 2 contest at Lindquist Field starting at 2:00 pm as the Raptors gun for two straight wins.
